HMN Architects partnered with Olathe Health to design a new, 29,000 SF, free-standing Cancer Center. The new facility will enhance the patient’s experience by integrating key cancer care providers and advancing the quality of care. The vision of the new cancer center will establish an identifiable and highly visible physical presence in the community, improve the patient and care team experience, and provide comprehensive cancer care close to home.

In addition to clinic spaces, the building was designed to accommodate a CT and two linear accelerators. Adjacent in the infusion bays is an exterior walled healing garden, containing water features that are visible from the patient treatment areas. Research and evidence indicate that the incorporation of nature into the patient experience promotes patient healing through a reduced stress environment.
