Urgent Care & Sports Medicine

By expanding services to southern Johnson County, the new clinic transformed an existing retail storefront into a fully functional healthcare facility. The clinic includes 16 exam rooms (including one isolation room), two larger treatment/exam rooms, a lab, a radiology room equipped with GE Definium 8000, and staff support areas. The Sports Medicine portion features a 3,500 SF rehab/PT gym with dedicated storage and staff workspaces.

A centrally located waiting area, reception/check-in desk, and nurse’s station support both Urgent Care and Sports Medicine operations. While using standard materials consistent with the Children’s Mercy brand, the design incorporated specialized elements for the gym, including sports flooring, a ball-toss wall, digital clocks/timers, and playful lighting to emphasize the dynamic nature of the space.
