Gift Shop

The renovation of the Children’s Mercy Hospital gift shop focused on creating a child- and family-centered experience, consistent with the hospital’s patient care spaces. A vibrant palette provides a positive distraction for visitors, while color-changing LED lighting and interactive projection technology make the space dynamic and engaging. Conveniently located along a main corridor leading to the cafeteria, the new design has improved visibility, patronage, and revenue for the hospital.

A standout design feature is the ceiling, featuring more than 60 suspended fins illuminated by programmable lighting in an open-to-structure layout. The project was developed in collaboration with BRR Architecture and Dimensional Innovations, resulting in a playful, visually striking space that delights patients, families, and staff alike.
