Critical Care Services Expansion

In collaboration with NBBJ, HMN Architects designed a major critical care expansion to elevate one of the region’s busiest hospitals. The project delivers a new emergency department, intensive care unit, cardiac care unit, ambulatory unit, endoscopy center, surgical suites, and a 60-bed critical care tower. A refined material palette and generous natural light create a warm, welcoming environment. Patient-centered features—including decentralized caregiver stations, adaptable patient rooms, and shared procedure support spaces—enhance both care delivery and efficiency. The campus experience is further transformed through healing gardens, clear wayfinding, an improved arrival sequence, and a new parking structure for patients and visitors.
