HMN Architects continued its long standing partnership with Stormont Vail Health (dating back to 1993) by providing full architectural and interior design services for this new ambulatory surgical center and orthopedic building. The design takes advantage of the site’s natural slope, allowing same-level entry from surface parking on both the first and second floors—an essential benefit for orthopedic patients who often struggle with stairs and inclines.

The lower level houses four operating room suites and the same-day surgery area. The second floor includes physical, occupational, and speech therapy spaces, along with shell space for future expansion. The third floor features physician offices and clinics, supported by two radiology rooms within the facility.

By consolidating orthopedic services into a single location, the new building significantly reduces travel demands for patients. Stormont Vail Health has also leveraged the facility as a recruitment asset, successfully attracting physicians—including an orthopedic traumatologist—to the organization.

“HMN Architects, Inc. consistently meets and exceeds our expectations, and I would highly recommend them as the architect of choice.”

David Cunningham, Vice President of Facilities & Construction, Stormont Vail Health
